The Opportunity

Snelling Staffing is seeking a high-level Finance & Payroll Specialist for a premier client in the Panama City area. This isn’t just a data entry role; we are looking for a technical “power user” who can bridge the gap between complex payroll administration and senior-level financial reporting.

 

The ideal candidate is someone who can “own” the accounting cycle within a robust ERP environment (NetSuite preferred), ensuring that every deduction, tax levy, and GL mapping is executed with surgical precision. Key Responsibilities

Financial Operations & Systems Management

  • System Integrity: Manage and configure financial and payroll data within the company’s ERP system; maintain earnings/deduction items and ensure seamless mapping to the General Ledger.
  • The Close: Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes with a focus on payroll-related reconciliations.
  • Process Improvement: Identify automation opportunities to streamline time-tracking or external integrations (ADP/Ceridian/Workday).
  • Audit Readiness: Prepare detailed financial statements and serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits.

Advanced Payroll Administration

  • Full-Cycle Execution: Process accurate, timely payroll for a multi-entity environment.
  • Compliance: Manage complex garnishments, tax levies, and multi-state compliance regulations.
  • Benefits Oversight: Ensure accurate 401(k) matching, health insurance deductions, and timely employee inquiry resolution.

 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: 3–7+ years of “dual-threat” experience in Finance/Accounting and Payroll.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong experience working within an enterprise-level ERP (e.g., NetSuite, Sage, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics). Direct hands-on experience with NetSuite is highly preferred.
  • Software Skills: Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and complex data analysis).
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of GAAP and federal/state payroll regulations.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • Certifications: CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or CPA is a significant plus.
