The Opportunity

Snelling Staffing is seeking a high-level Finance and Payroll Specialist for a premier client in the Panama City area. This is not a data entry role; we are looking for an experienced professional who can bridge the gap between complex payroll administration and senior-level financial reporting.

The ideal candidate is someone who can fully own the accounting cycle within an ERP environment, ensuring that every deduction, tax levy, and General Ledger mapping is executed with precision. Key Responsibilities

• Financial and Payroll Operations: Manage and configure financial and payroll data within the ERP system; maintain earnings/deduction items and ensure seamless mapping to the General Ledger.
• The Financial Close: Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes with a specific focus on payroll-related reconciliations.
• Process Improvement: Identify automation opportunities to streamline time-tracking or external platform integrations (such as ADP/Ceridian).
• Audit Readiness: Prepare detailed financial statements and serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits.
• Advanced Payroll Administration: Process accurate, timely full-cycle payroll for a complex, multi-entity environment.
• Compliance and Benefits: Manage complex garnishments, tax levies, and multi-state regulations. Ensure accurate 401(k) matching, health deductions, and timely resolution of employee inquiries.

Position Requirements

We are looking for an analytical professional with a proven track record, not a resume stuffed with AI filler words.

• Experience: 3 to 7+ years of dual experience handling both senior finance/accounting duties and complex payroll operations.
• Software Skills: Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and complex data analysis.
• Technical Preferences: Direct, hands-on experience with NetSuite ERP is highly preferred.
• Knowledge Base: A deep, functional understanding of GAAP and federal/state payroll regulations.
• Education and Credentials: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred. Holding a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or CPA designation is a significant advantage.
• Core Competencies: Absolute discretion when handling confidential compensation data, an analytical mindset that seeks operational efficiencies, and the ability to pivot seamlessly from high-level financial strategy to granular troubleshooting.
