Position Overview

Snelling Staffing is seeking a dependable, self-motivated Resort Maintenance Technician to oversee facility care and preventative maintenance for a portfolio of upscale vacation homes and condominiums in Panama City Beach.

Reporting directly to the Rental Manager, you will serve as both a technical specialist and a property ambassador. This role combines hands-on mechanical troubleshooting, preventative upkeep, vendor coordination, and proactive guest/owner relations to keep units operating at peak hospitality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Property & Preventative Maintenance

  • Execute and uphold property Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) alongside the Team Lead to maintain high quality across all units.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on mechanical fixtures, plumbing, electrical elements, and appliances to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct detailed arrival and departure inspections of houses and condos, documenting any property damage for insurance and maintenance logs.
  • Track, manage, and resolve work orders through completion using internal maintenance tracking workflows.

Guest & Owner Relations

  • Address guest inquiries and maintenance concerns promptly with a courteous, solutions-focused demeanor.
  • Partner with property owners to handle repair requests and assist with unit upgrades, including furniture placement, flooring updates, and turnover renovations.
  • Coordinate seamlessly with the Front Desk and Housekeeping teams to expedite turnaround times and minimize check-in delays.

Operations, Purchasing & Safety

  • Track maintenance inventory, place replenishment orders for critical parts, and submit verified invoices to the accounting department.
  • Oversee and schedule outside specialty contractors, including carpet cleaners, painters, and trade specialists.
  • Maintain rigorous compliance with OSHA standards and current health and safety guidelines.
  • Uphold strict security protocols for property keys, lost-and-found items, and emergency after-hours dispatch.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 2+ years of resort or hotel maintenance experience, 2+ years in facility operations, and 1+ years in inventory/purchasing.
  • Technical Proficiency: Competence with standard hand and power tools; strong working knowledge of basic plumbing, carpentry, drywall, and light electrical systems.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry 35+ lbs regularly, climb ladders, and navigate multi-story units throughout the day.
  • Professional Attributes: Professional presentation, dependable work ethic, clean background check, and valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
  • Schedule Flexibility: Ability to work a daytime schedule (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM) including required weekends, peak holiday periods, and rotating on-call shifts.

Position Highlights

  • Competitive Pay: $18.00 – $20.00/hour depending on hands-on experience, paid weekly.
  • Predictable Daytime Base: Consistent daytime schedule with designated lunch breaks.
  • Dynamic Setting: Well-maintained resort community offering diverse hands-on projects rather than repetitive single-room repairs.
