ABOUT THE ROLE
This position involves performing skilled plumbing work in the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of water, sewer, and drainage systems. The Plumber will handle a wide range of plumbing duties — from troubleshooting leaks and clogs to installing new fixtures and piping. A background in general building maintenance or related trades (carpentry, electrical, HVAC) is a plus.
This role may also assist with emergency preparation and repairs before, during, and after severe weather or other critical events.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems including water supply lines, sewer lines, drains, and fixtures.
Repair or replace sinks, toilets, faucets, valves, pumps, and water heaters.
Diagnose plumbing problems and determine the best repair or replacement solutions.
Install new plumbing systems for renovations or construction projects according to plans and code requirements.
Perform preventative maintenance to keep plumbing systems operating safely and efficiently.
Test plumbing lines for leaks and ensure compliance with applicable plumbing codes and safety standards.
Maintain and organize tools, materials, and equipment.
Accurately track time, materials, and project details for reporting and planning.
Work closely with other trade professionals to complete facility maintenance and repairs.
Respond quickly to plumbing emergencies such as leaks, clogs, or flooding to minimize downtime.
Follow all safety procedures and regulations related to plumbing work and equipment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Strong working knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, and installation methods.
Skilled in reading blueprints, plans, and technical specifications.
Proficient in the use of plumbing tools and testing equipment.
Knowledge of applicable plumbing codes and safe work practices.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Comfortable working in confined spaces, at heights, and in variable weather conditions.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-minded.
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required.
3+ years of experience in plumbing maintenance, repair, or construction.
Valid driver’s license required.
Florida Class B CDL with air brake endorsement preferred (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
Equivalent combinations of experience and training may be considered.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Occasionally: Lift/carry 50+ lbs., push/pull 40+ lbs., climb, crawl, or kneel for extended periods.
Frequently: Bend, reach overhead, twist, and work in tight or awkward spaces.
Constantly: Lift/carry up to 25 lbs., stand, walk, and use hand tools.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, year-round.
Exposure to heat, cold, humidity, and varying weather conditions.
Moderate exposure to noise, odors, and plumbing-related materials.
Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required at all times.
