Entry-Level Maintenance Technician
Compensation: $18 – $24 per hour (USD)
Overview:
Are you ready to start a hands-on career in maintenance and technical operations? As an Entry-Level Maintenance Technician, you’ll assist skilled technicians in inspecting, maintaining, and repairing industrial equipment and facility systems. This role offers structured on-the-job training, mentorship, and opportunities to grow your technical skills while ensuring safe and reliable operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily Maintenance Tasks:
Perform preventative maintenance, including lubrication, filter replacements, and belt checks.
Assist with machinery repairs, installations, and inspections.
Maintain a clean, organized workspace and help manage tools and supplies.
Conduct general facility maintenance, such as spot painting, plumbing fixes, and lighting/electrical fixture work.
Log maintenance work accurately using provided systems or forms.
Technical Development & Repairs:
Safely operate hand and power tools.
Help troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or electrical issues.
Replace components such as belts, hoses, and rollers under guidance.
Learn to read and interpret schematics, manuals, and technical diagrams.
Safety & Compliance:
Follow all safety protocols, including OSHA and NEC standards.
Participate in safety briefings and report hazards or near-miss incidents.
Use PPE correctly and adhere to lockout/tagout (LOTO) and confined space procedures.
Training & Growth:
Engage in structured on-the-job training and self-study to build your skills.
Complete learning modules or assessments as assigned.
Shadow experienced technicians and seek feedback to improve performance.
Take detailed notes on equipment and processes to support skill development.
Team Collaboration & Communication:
Communicate clearly with team members, leads, and supervisors.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in non-climate-controlled environments.
Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
Self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.
Computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word preferred).
Strong interpersonal and listening skills.
