Job Title: General Laborer – Site Spotter

Location: Panama City Beach, FL

Schedule: Monday – Friday, Day Shift 6:30am to 5pm

Pay Rate: $16.00/hour

Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable, safety-minded General Laborer to join our site operations team at a local waste disposal facility. The primary responsibility of this position is managing traffic flow and directing haulers, commercial trucks, and public vehicles safely from the scale house/entrance to the designated tipping zones and working faces.

This is a great, steady daytime role with a consistent Monday through Friday schedule—no weekends required!

Key Responsibilities

• Traffic Direction & Flow: Safely direct commercial haulers, roll-off trucks, and residential traffic as they enter the facility, proceed past the scale house, and approach designated drop-off/tipping locations.
• Spotting & Staging: Act as a ground spotter for incoming vehicles and heavy equipment, ensuring proper spacing and clearance to prevent collisions or site congestion.
• Customer Interaction: Greet incoming drivers and public patrons with clear, professional directions regarding site speed limits, PPE requirements, and disposal instructions.
• Hazard Awareness & Communication: Monitor site conditions and blind spots; communicate actively with heavy equipment operators, scale masters, and site supervisors using hand signals and two-way radios.
• Site Upkeep & General Labor: Assist with basic site maintenance, including picking up windblown debris/litter, placing or repositioning safety cones and signage, and keeping roadway access lanes clear of obstacles.
• Safety Compliance: Follow all OSHA and company site safety guidelines, consistently wearing required high-visibility Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: Prior experience in outdoor general labor, traffic control, flagging, landscaping, warehousing, or construction is a plus, but entry-level candidates willing to learn are encouraged to apply!
• Communication Skills: Clear hand-signaling ability and good verbal communication skills to interact with drivers and coworkers.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and remain on your feet for extended periods on uneven outdoor ground (gravel, dirt, asphalt).
• Weather Tolerance: Comfortable working outdoors across varying Florida weather conditions (heat, humidity, sunshine, and light rain).
• Reliability: Punctual, dependable attendance and reliable transportation to the job site.
• PPE: Ability to wear mandatory safety gear (high-visibility vest, hard hat, safety glasses, and steel-toe boots).
