Maintenance Technician
Pay: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour (DOE)
Schedule: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (8-hour shifts); 30-minute lunch.
Availability: Weekends and some holidays required; must be available for on-call rotation.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Rental Manager, the Maintenance Technician is a vital member of our resort team. You aren’t just fixing things; you are an ambassador for the property. We are looking for a proactive, self-starting “expert” who takes pride in maintaining our houses and condos to the highest standards. This role requires a blend of technical skill, organizational excellence, and top-tier guest service.
Key Responsibilities
Property & Preventative Maintenance
Standard Operating Procedures: Execute and uphold the property’s new SOPs alongside the Team Lead to ensure consistent quality.
Preventative Care: Manage and perform routine maintenance within company guidelines to minimize reactive repairs.
Inspections: Conduct thorough arrival/departure inspections of houses and condos. Document any damages for insurance and maintenance purposes.
Work Orders: Manage the full lifecycle of work orders from opening to completion.
Guest & Owner Relations
Problem Resolution: Address guest opportunities and concerns with a professional, “can-do” attitude.
Owner Partnership: Respond to owner requests immediately; assist and guide owners through property updates (furniture, flooring, renovations).
Communication: Maintain active, open lines of communication with the Front Desk and Housekeeping to ensure rooms are turned over efficiently.
Operations & Safety
Inventory & Purchasing: Monitor supply levels and manage ordering; filter invoices to the accounting department.
Vendor Management: Coordinate with outside contractors, including painters, carpet cleaners, and suppliers.
Compliance: Ensure all procedures meet OSHA and current health guidelines (CDC).
Security: Follow protocols for the security of lost and found items and after-hours emergency calls.
Job Requirements
Experience: 2+ years of hotel/resort maintenance; 2+ years in operations; 1+ years in purchasing/receiving.
Technical Skill: Proficiency with basic hand tools and a high attention to detail.
Physical Ability: Must be able to lift, push, or pull 35+ pounds.
Professionalism: Must have a professional demeanor, reliable transportation, and a “Team Player” mentality.
Flexibility: Ability to work a variable schedule including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
