Assistant Plant Manager Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Plant Manager to join our team at a manufacturing company. The Assistant Plant Manager will play a key role in supporting the Plant Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring efficiency, and maintaining quality standards. Responsibilities:
Assist Plant Manager: Support the Plant Manager in planning, directing, and coordinating manufacturing processes to meet production goals and quality standards.
Team Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to production staff, ensuring adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Production Oversight: Monitor production schedules, workflow, and resource allocation to optimize efficiency and minimize downtime.
Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality control team to maintain product quality and address any issues or defects in the manufacturing process.
Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels, raw materials, and supplies to ensure availability for production needs while minimizing waste and excess inventory.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and efficiency gains, and implement solutions to enhance productivity.
Safety Compliance: Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies and procedures.
Training and Development: Train and develop production staff to enhance skills, improve performance, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports on production metrics, performance indicators, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for review by senior management.
Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including engineering, maintenance, and logistics, to coordinate activities and achieve common goals.
Requirements:
Prior experience with human resources, worker’s compensation, payroll, purchasing, and/or timekeeping responsibilities.
Prior experience working in a production or supervisory role for a manufacturing facility.
The right candidate will enjoy learning new things, and be comfortable managing a variety of duties throughout the workday.
Ideal candidates will have skill with time management, prioritization, and organization.
Experience or capability to learn maintenance for production machinery.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve goals.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality control methods.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
