Position Type: Full-Time / Part-Time (Temporary / Contract options available)
Pay Rate: Starting at $16.00 – $18.00 / Hour (Depending on experience)

Position Overview
A premier local golf cart sales, service, and rental dealership is seeking a dependable, hardworking Shop Helper / Service Assistant to support our service department. This is an active, heavy-labor position where you will work directly with our mechanical team to prepare inventory, handle materials, assist with non-repair mechanical tasks, and ensure the shop runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Golf Cart Preparation & Detailing

• Fleet Readiness: Wash, clean, and detail new, used, and rental golf carts for showroom display, customer delivery, and service completion.
• Detail Oriented: Thoroughly clean wheels, tires, seats, windshields, and cart bodies to ensure a presentation-ready delivery.
• Order Verification: Double-check completed carts against customer invoices to ensure all physical items and accessories match the final build.
• Lot Maintenance: Assist with maintaining the pristine appearance and organization of the sales lot, showroom, and staging areas. Keep inventory properly aligned, charged, and fueled.

Service Department & Mechanical Support

• Heavy Material Handling: Load, unload, and distribute heavy golf cart batteries (up to 75 lbs. frequently) for customer pickups and service carts. Assist with loading/unloading vehicles from delivery trucks.
• Technician Assistance: Deliver parts, tools, and supplies to mechanics as needed to keep workflow moving. Assist with the basic disassembly of components (removing seats, body panels, and accessories) under direct technician supervision.
• Logistics: Safely move golf carts between the showroom, service department, storage areas, and customer pickup locations.
• Inventory Control: Unpack incoming parts shipments, check against packing slips, and organize/stock parts, hardware, and shop supplies on shelves.

Shop & Facility Maintenance

• Cleanliness: Maintain an absolute standard of cleanliness in the service shop, warehouse, and showroom floors. Sweep floors, empty trash, clean workstations, and keep areas free of clutter.
• Safety & Upkeep: Keep wash bays, commercial pressure washer stations, battery charging areas, and hazardous material storage neat, orderly, and compliant with company safety guidelines.

Position Requirements

• Age & Logistics: Must be 18 years of age or older with reliable personal transportation to the job site.
• Experience & Aptitude: Mechanical aptitude and comfort/experience using hand tools, power tools, and commercial pressure washers is highly preferred but not required; a willingness to learn is essential.
• Professionalism & Teamwork: Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude. Must follow instructions closely and work well within a collaborative team. Occasional customer interaction requires a clean presentation and clear communication skills.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Physical Stamina: Must be able to routinely lift, carry, push, pull, and maneuver up to 75 lbs. (specifically heavy batteries and components). Position requires frequent standing, walking, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
• Environment: Ability to work comfortably in an active, hot, dirty, and physically demanding environment. Work is performed both inside the mechanics’ shop and outdoors in varying Florida weather conditions.
