Department: Rooms/Accounting
Schedule: Part-Time

  • Sundays and Mondays: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • Occasional coverage for call-outs (rare)

Pay: Based on Experience (DOE)

 

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Night Auditor to join our team. This role is crucial for maintaining the accuracy of hotel financial records, including reconciling all cashier transactions, reviewing and organizing management reports, and ensuring precise guest billing and city ledger transactions. Additionally, the Night Auditor will perform guest service duties, such as check-ins, check-outs, handling reservations, and switchboard operations. Effective communication with all levels of management is essential for success in this role.

 

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: At least 1 year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field.

 

Requirements:

  • Flexibility: Ability to work long or irregular hours, as needed.
  • Physical Requirements: Sedentary work; must occasionally exert up to 10 pounds of force.
  • Skills:
    • Strong ability to convey and clarify information effectively.
    • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making under high-pressure situations.
    • Anticipate and address needs proactively.
    • Strong analytical skills for processing complex information and financial data.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize to meet deadlines.
    • Willingness to cross-train in other accounting or hotel-related functions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional service by approaching all interactions with guests and employees in a friendly, professional, and service-oriented manner.
  • Maintain consistent attendance and comply with company grooming standards, including wearing the proper uniform and nametag.
  • Ensure compliance with all company standards and safety regulations to support efficient hotel operations.

 

Guest Services:

  • Perform check-ins, check-outs, take reservations, and manage wake-up calls as needed.

 

Audit & Reconciliation:

  • Reconcile financial and statistical reports daily.
  • Audit and balance cashier work from Front Desk and Food & Beverage departments.
  • Consolidate and transmit credit card transactions with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare and distribute daily and monthly reports (e.g., Daily Operating Report, Discount Programs, Tax Reports).

 

Data Management:

  • Update and maintain financial data in corporate communication systems.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, and annual data processing functions.

 

Problem Solving:

  • Monitor and address unusual operational or financial events.
  • Identify problem areas, maximize productivity, and implement solutions.

 

Compliance & Communication:

  • Respond to government inquiries as needed.
  • Keep management informed of deviations from policies and procedures.
  • Attend meetings and training as required by management.

 

Additional Duties:
Perform other responsibilities as assigned by management.
