Fire Alarm System Service Technician, Level 2 (One opening for Panama City, FL; One Opening for Fort Walton Beach, FL)
Schedule: Monday – Friday: 6am to 6pm
Pay: $18.00 to $25.00 per hour (DOE)

Job Description Summary

The function of the Fire Alarm System Service Technician Level 2 is to aid in the repair, renovation and maintenance of all type fire alarms, and other low voltage systems, in an efficient, accurate, and economical manner, and to maintain the highest standards of quality and scheduled customer commitments. This includes intermediate field coordination, planning, and expediting of service orders and communication of job status to key staff.

Requirements:

  • One year in the related fire protection industry or three years’ experience in similar industry
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license
  • FASA and BASA certification
  • NICET II fire alarm Certification (Preferred)
  • Two years’ experience in the related fire protection industry with one-year leadership experience (Preferred)
  • Must be able to safely lift, transport and place objects up to 70 pounds without assistance

Skills \ Knowledge \ Abilities:

  • Management skills in keeping with experience.
  • Excellent customer relation skills
  • Intermediate computer and software skills,
  • Intermediate knowledge of fire and building codes, OSHA, and other regulations pertaining to job
  • Intermediate knowledge of fire sprinkler systems, fire pumps, and alarm panels
  • Ability to direct job flow from customer contact to completion

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The principle responsibilities of the Fire Alarm System Service Technician Level 2 consist of, but are not limited to:

  • The timely and efficient performance of repair, renovation and maintenance of all type fire alarm, and other low voltage systems, with maximum of 75% direct supervision,
  • To ensure that any system maintained is in the best possible working order before leaving the site
  • Aid in coordination with monitoring companies, fire departments, and other authorities to avoid false alarms and unreported true alarms
  • Enforce all company policies and procedures
  • Prepare accurate reports in a timely manner as required by the Service Team Manager
  • Promote teamwork within the department and the Company
  • Respect confidentiality of company information
  • Participate in all training operations.
  • Requisition materials and equipment anticipating future needs
  • Service systems per manufacturer’s maintenance manual, the law, and the adopted Standards of the National Fire Protection Association
  • Complete follow up documentation
  • Prepare proposals
  • Provide training
